protection - rescue - safety
The vfdb is the expert network for protection, rescue and safety.
For a safe life, the vfdb deals with current and future-oriented safety issues in a trend-setting manner.
As a network of experts, the vfdb creates a platform for dialogue through expert presentations, ad hoc working groups, and participation in and organization of expert conferences and trade fairs, e.g. Interschutz.
The vfdb contributes its expertise to public and political debates. This is achieved through active public relations work.
The vfdb participates in research and development. It supports the experts through technical information, guidelines and the publication of a technical-scientific journal.
The vfdb cooperates with other professional associations, e.g. the DFV, and participates in standardization work.
The vfdb promotes innovative products and processes and awards its own seal of approval.
The technical work of the TWB and the units is made available to the public in the form of guidelines, position papers, leaflets as well as technical reports or can be purchased.
With their financial and non-material contributions, the broad base of personal and corporate members ensures fact-based research, cross-interest specialist group work and is an independent lobby for improving safety in dealing with the hazards of everyday life and industrial society. Currently, more than 2,500 individual members and more than 530 corporate members from industry and society, including more than 100 municipalities, as well as ministries, research institutes, associations, societies and the associated national and international fire department organizations stand up for the goals of the vfdb.
The vfdb is a "Member of CFPA-Europe" (Confederation of Fire Protection Associations). Together with the German Fire Brigades Association, the vfdb plays an important role in the international organization CTIF (Comité Technique International de prévention et d'extinction du Feu).
