70 years - It's our birthday!

On May 22, 1950, the Association for the Promotion of German Fire Protection (vfdb) was founded in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt. From the beginning, the aim was to further develop the entire German fire protection scientifically and technically. The first chairman at that time was retired fire director August Ortloph. Nobody could have guessed at that time, how in the course of the following years from ambitious, but small beginnings a meanwhile extensive expert network for protection, rescue and security has developed. Today, the vfdb has more than 3,000 members, both personal and corporate.

The vfdb offers, as it is written in its mission statement, a platform for dialogue through technical papers, ad hoc working groups and the participation in and organization of conferences and trade fairs. The most important event, however, is the world's leading trade fair INTERSCHUTZ, of which the vfdb is the conceptual sponsor. For meanwhile 40 years a close partnership with the German fair AG, Hanover exists. Thus, in addition to the 70th birthday of the vfdb, there is also a "ruby wedding" this year.

Die enge Verbindung drückt Messe-Vorstandsmitglied Dr. Andreas Gruchow in einer Video-Grußbotschaft aus. Hier...
